Algusar (standing, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th from left respectively) at 10:00 a.m., October 23, 2024, provided cash assistance of Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00) and clothing from Vice Mayor Lopez to CARLOS M. CASQUEJO (sitting, 3rd from left), a 73 years old fisherman from Banhigan, Dalaguete, Cebu who is currently stranded in Barangay Canhangdon Occidental, Loon, Bohol. Sitting second from right is Jose Gallo, a local resident who assisted the stranded fisherman and accompanied him to Canhangdon Occ. barangay captain Winston R. Pagaura, to report his situation and request help in notifying his relatives in Dalaguete, Cebu. Casquejo related that he had gone fishing in the seawaters of Dalaguete, Cebu on October 21, 2024 but due to the strong winds brought about by Typhoon Kristine, he ran out of fuel and was swept ashore to Loon, Bohol. The Philippine Coast Guard – Loon Station has already been notified on his situation and will assist him in boarding the ferry, along with his pumpboat, via Argao once sea travel is permitted.
