LGU-Loon conducted a feeding program for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) on the National Day of Charity 2024

NATIONAL DAY OF CHARITY 2024. Presidential Proclamation No. 598 declares October 30 of every Year as National Day of Charity. In observance thereof, the LGU of Loon, Bohol conducted a feeding program for persons deprived of liberty (PDL), and coordinated with the beneficiaries through the Philippine National Police – Loon Police Station headed by PMajor Ray Olar, chief of police. At the national level, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is tasked to lead, coordinate and supervise the observance of the Charity Day, which for this year adopted the theme “Kawanggawa Para sa Kapwa”. Mayor Elvi Peter L. Relampagos, which is on an official business in Manila, encouraged every Loonanon to commit acts of charity as expressions of love for everyone. He also echoed PCSO’s call for nurturing love and charity to uphold the Filipino values of giving and compassion. It was a snacktime worth remembering for the PDLs at the Loon Police Station. Helping out in the distribution of food were Police Chief Olar, Municipal Administrator Reynaldo Monreal, MSWD Officer Ma. Marnelli Maquindang, and Municipal Budget Officer Sheila Castrojo.
