LOON, BOHOL enjoins the 2024 National Children’s Month Celebration

Under Republic Act No. 10661, National Children’s Month (NCM), also known as “Buwan ng mga Bata” in the Philippines, is annually celebrated every November to commemorate the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNRC) on 20 November 1989. The 32nd observance of the NCM this November 20, 2024 will focus on violence against children, with the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines!”. In relation to this, schools of Loon conducted activities that will support the said celebration through a talent show and social involvement where children get the chance to perform in front of a live audience. This month-long celebration offers an exceptional opportunity to show appreciation for, celebrate, and meet the needs of children. The month also plays a role in raising awareness about child-related issues, such as child labor, child abuse, and child trafficking.
